{"id":14,"date":"2019-09-18T07:24:29","date_gmt":"2019-09-18T07:24:29","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/sf.ues.rs.ba\/eng\/?page_id=14"},"modified":"2019-09-18T07:24:29","modified_gmt":"2019-09-18T07:24:29","slug":"about-the-faculty","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/sf.ues.rs.ba\/eng\/index.php\/about-the-faculty\/","title":{"rendered":"ABOUT THE FACULTY"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>Faculty of Transport and Traffic Engineering in Doboj,\nUniversity of East Sarajevo, was founded on the initiative of the Polytechnic\nSchool from Doboj and Doboj Municipal Assembly by Decision of the National\nAssembly of the Republic of Srpska of July 28, 2005.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Faculty of Transport and Traffic Engineering is a\nhigher education institution which organizes studies of all cycles according\nthe system 4+1+3 (four-year first cycle, one-year second cycle and three-year\nthird cycle) where students get continuing professional education and training,\nperform basic and developmental research in the field of traffic, transport and\nmotor vehicles.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Faculty carries out following research activities:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>basic\ndevelopmental and applied research for the purpose of improving educational and\nscientific activities in the fields that the Faculty relates to,<\/li><li>organisation\nof scientific and professional conferences,<\/li><li>cooperation\nwith&nbsp; educational, scientific and other\ninstitutions in the country and abroad,<\/li><li>giving\neducational and scientific services to users in the country and abroad,<\/li><li>realisation\nof scientific and research activities and promotion of science and cooperation\nwith other organisations<\/li><li>analyses\nand expertise in transport and traffic.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>In the study year 2005\/2006 the Faculty educated\nstudents at two out of five departments: Department for Road and Urban Transport\nand Department of Railway Transport. Since the study year 2006\/2007 the Faculty\nhad students at three remaining departments: Postal Department, Department for\nTelecommunications and Department of Logistics.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>By the year 2014 at the Faculty of Transport and\nTraffic Engineering, study programme Traffic Engineering, teaching activities\nwere carried out at following departments: : Department for Road and Urban\nTransport, Department of Railway Transport, Postal Department, Department for\nTelecommunications and Department of Logistics. In 2014, by the Decision number\n07.050\/612-10-1-2\/14 of July 29, 2014, the Ministry of Education and Culture of\nthe Republic of Srpska approved a new, innovated first and second cycle study\nprogramme \u2019Traffic Engineering\u2019, thus adding five new departments. Therefore,\nfirst cycle study departments at the study programme \u2019Traffic Engineering\u2019 are:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Road\nand Urban Transport<\/li><li>Railway\nTransport<\/li><li>Telecommunications\nand Postal Traffic<\/li><li>Logistics<\/li><li>Informatics\nin Traffic<\/li><li>Motor\nVehicles<\/li><li>Air\nTransport.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>All syllabi are created according to the Bologna\nprocess.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>First two years of study are common for all the\nstudents and all subjects are mandatory. During that period students acquire\ngeneral knowledge necessary for further education at chosen department. At\nthird and fourth year of study students choose orientation and get knowledge\nspecific for the department they have chosen. Certain number of subjects is\nmandatory, others are elective and student chose them based on their wishes and\naffinity.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>After eight semesters, students, who pass all the\nexams according to the curriculum and successfully finish final thesis, acquire\na professional title of a Bachelor of Science in Traffic Engineering.
